If you ask me where should be the first place you eat in Paris, I would say Le Comptoir. Simply because it was mine and everything I wanted for my first meal in the City of Light.
Sure, the menu is a little pricey but rest assured, its worth every penny. Le Comptoir’s kitchen is operated by head chef Yves Camdeborde and his team. They aim to offer a classy dining experience delivering fresh local ingredients as classic French cuisine.
Since this was my friends and I first meal in Paris, we thought it would be proper to do it “family style”. After browsing the menu we decided on the beef stew, lamb chop, pork with lentils and lobster bisque. Everything was extremely delicious and cooked to perfection, but the lobster bisque easily stole the show.
Whether you decide to dine at Le Comptoir for your first Paris meal, lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed. It’s also worth saying that Anthony Bourdain recommends this banging restaurant in the middle of Paris. I’ll certainly be going back some day.
