Seattle Breweries Hosting Rad Fundraisers This Summer (2019)

Featured Image Credit: Reuben’s Brewing

Summer is prime time to visit Seattle breweries, and it’s even better when your dollars go to help some amazing organizations along the way. (We even hear that drinking for charity cancels out the beer calories… trust us, it’s science).

Here are some awesome fundraiser events coming up this summer at some of the best Seattle breweries. Cheers to philanthropic beers!

Thursday, July 11th – Baby Goats & Brews – Reuben’s Brewing (Ballard)

The 4th Annual Baby Goats and Brews is upon us, and you can certainly expect a big turnout. Arguably one of the most popular Seattle brewery events, this one is all about the baby goats. Attendees get 5 minutes to pet the cute rescue baby goats, with $1 of every pint, growler and flight benefiting Puget Sound Goat Rescue. This event (and brewery) is kid friendly and doggie friendly, but no doggies near the goat pen.

Visit the event page on Facebook for more information.

Saturday, July 21st
Sabo’s B-Day Party & PAWS Fundraiser – Bad Jimmy’s Brewing (Ballard/Fremont)

BYO Puppy Dog! This event is to remember a sweet local dog, Sabo, on his birthday. Since his passing, his owner honors his memory by helping support other animals in need.

Bad Jimmy’s, our favorite of all the Seattle breweries, will play host to the event. Not only will there be a raffle, silent auction and tons of great food and local brew, but there will also be a doggy photo booth – yep. Wags Photo Booth will be in attendance to commemorate the celebration with a professional photo booth for you and your pup.

The fundraising goal is $6000 and will be donated to PAWS and another local animal shelter. If you can’t make the event, you can still donate here.

Wednesday, July 31st
Science Trivia Night & 500 Women Scientists & Health Alliance International Fundraiser – Peddler Brewing (Ballard)

Probably the most philanthropic of all Seattle breweries, this special edition of Peddler’s recurring Trivia Night is all about science. $1 for every pint sold will also go to benefit 500 Women Scientists and Health Alliance International. Trivia teams are limited to 8 people, and as always, Peddler is all ages and dog-friendly. Test your knowledge, enjoy a pint or two, and cheers to science!

Sunday, August 4th
Bob The Builder Brewery Crawl & Habitat For Humanity Fundraiser – Stoup, Obec, Reubens, Peddler, NW Peaks (Ballard)

Can we drink it? Yes we can! This special brewery crawl serves to benefit our local Habitat For Humanity chapter. No hammers or nails necessary, just pack your drinkin ‘n walkin shoes, and your best flannel. You’ll be hopping around to five different Seattle breweries during the event (all within close range in Ballard), with the last stop at NW Peaks for the big raffle. Get your tickets in advance for only $20, or get them at the door for $25. Don’t forget to bring some extra cash for raffle tickets!

Saturday, August 17th
Steven’s Birthday & Fundraiser for Old Dog Haven – Hellbent Brewing (Lake City)

It’s pretty clear by now that Seattle breweries love dogs, and this celebration is for one special beer doggo in chief – Steven! Steven is Hellbent’s CEO and leader of Hellbent’s #bardogsquad. Bring your friendly pups to party in style with a dog food truck (of course!), doggie birthday cake and beer garden. There will also be human food for purchase, and $1 from every Northwest Pilsner pint sold will go toward Old Dog Haven, a “small nonprofit group using a large network of foster homes to provide a loving safe home for abandoned senior dogs in western Washington.” How sweet is that?

Even more so, I try to learn about and raise awareness to local grassroots efforts in the areas I am visiting. I believe that communities hold the answers to their trials and I seek to support those efforts however I can.My goal is to never stop learning, always checking my privilege and try to make the world a better place.
